ʻAkahiao Keiki Program
The daycare at ʻAkahiao Nature Institute is guided by the cultivation of two natures: the nature of our keiki with their individual strengths; and by the natural world where quality learning happens. We strive to develop a relationship of reciprocity and thankfulness between the two natures and among the keiki. Through guided exploration of the natural world, we believe our keiki will discover their innate sense of wonder and curiosity, enhance their physical aptitude and develop a strong sense of self in relation to this wonderful world. These benefits are long term and contribute to their development into global citizens who are curious, confident and environmentally conscious.
Our teachers are trained to lead them in activities that ensure experiential projects, creativity, and active participation. We are a licensed Family Childcare Home (FCCH) and can have up to 6 keiki in our program.
Learning Spaces
We are located at a picturesque ranch that encompasses an organic garden, tall tree forest and open grassland that can all be used as learning spaces. Our keiki will spend a greater part of the day exploring and learning in these various environments while focusing on activities that foster gratitude for the natural world.
